The Day I Died

The day I died was the best day of my life,

It was awesome you know

I had lived, been there and did all that could be done

And life as I had known it had changed

You see, my death was kind of a suicide mission

I wanted to die, I realized I needed to

What had happened was I met this guy,

He is the flyest guy I have ever known

When he speaks, you just have to listen and obey

He has that kind of effect on people

So when I met Him, he told me he loved me

And that if I loved him back, I'll die

And so I did.

See, to die is gain.

The profit of letting every will and want and desire go and dying is awesome

The feeling of being free and no longer being held captive by this world

O how I loved the day I died

The day I died was not a sorrowful ceremony

Yes, the world had lost one

But in heaven

The angels, the saints that had gone before and a huge cloud of witnesses threw a party on my death

O how I loved the day I died

My friends thought I was crazy

My family thought I was mad

People could not comprehend

The world could not understand how I will die and not "live" by it standards

Well, it’s not about them

It’s about Him, the One I love

So I will not just die but imma die daily

Because it’s not my will now but His be done

And if I don’t kill this flesh then my life is done

And it is not about me but it’s ALL about him

O how I loved the day I died

The day I died was the best day of my life

I said the day I died was the first best day of the rest of my "new" life

I had died in him, I was crucified in him

So I can have life abundantly

I died to my flesh and my Spirit was awakened in Christ Jesus

Now I don't walk in the way I used to walk before

I am no longer subject to the dictates of this world

No longer do I work by flesh but by the spirit of the living God

O how i loved the day I died

You know what’s funny.

If I didn’t die now, I was gonna die anyways

So I figured, why not die now before I self-destruct

Why not die in Him instead of die outside him

Why not be buried with him in baptism and be resurrected through faith

Why don’t I just die now

The day I died was awesome

I was quickened with him and He forgave out all my transgressions

So that as far as the east is from the west I am forgiven

Blotting out the ordinances written against me,

Making a show of principalities and powers, making a mockery of them openly

Oh how I loved the day I died

Because the day I died, was the day I started to live

Just Wondering

I am just wondering,
How I came into existence,
How the human body was wired to do all that it does,
It leaves me wondering,
How the sun, moon, stars and the planets hang there in the galaxies,
Looking at nature; the trees, the seas, rivers, mountains, oceans, how did He do it?
Some people say there is no God, They say he don't exist
Do you choose to believe that everything that happened "just happened"
No. I cannot. I refuse to believe that
That breathing in and out "just happens"?
I think I'll pass
Call me stupid, call me dumb,
I'll believe in a God that claims to be "ALL POWERFUL"
Than believe in... well... Nothing
I believe that an all powerful God has made all things perfect and in perfect order
This is what I choose to believe
This is whom I will believe in
'Cause He is the only one that leaves me

I sit silent watching the stars in the sky,
Oh how they shine so brightly,
Piercing the darkness all around,
And somehow illuminating my soul.

I close my eyes taking a deep breath,
Tingling my senses with sensations I have never felt before,
I open my eyes looking into the darkness,
And somehow I see light

Looking past who I am, to the person I will be,
Looking past the pain, to the joy that comes after
Looking past my self to the One that holds me now and forever
I find hope, I find joy, I find peace

There was a time when all was rosy
Life was a garden of beautiful roses
There was always something to lean on
Something to hold on to

I woke up one day and the walls had been torn down
My garden, my sanctuary had been exposed
How did my walls so strong come tumbling down
The hedge was broken, snakes everywhere

This realization had my head spinning
I mean, who would have thought?
I had it all.
And now, it was exposed. I am vulnerable

With the torn walls came the fire
It started from my feet, burning all the way to the top.
Every single part of my body was consumed in the flames
The heat of the fire tearing past my flesh, into my soul

Hurt doesnt describe it.
Pain. Anguish. I couldn't have survived.No way I could have.
As I drew close to death, i looked through scarred eyes
I saw them laugh.

Whatever

Who cares what they think? I am about to meet my maker

Am I?

Just then

Like a pheonix, I rose from the ashes
A new born, a new creature.
Pure as Gold, fine as fine can be
Who would have thought?

I am now in a new garden
Far beautiful than the previous
There are no walls anywhere
But I am stronger now
And so is my Protector

I am in a corner listening to the silence

Broken promises, lies told
Secrets kept, childhood fears

I look into his eyes
I see my reflection.

Now he is smiling
He holds my hand
And leads me to a large room.
The sign above the door says "Room of forgotten dreams"
I look at my dreams and aspirations

The child tugs at my sleeves
He asks
When did you stop believing?
What happened to you?
I close my eyes and hold back tears
I wipe the tears and open my eyes
I am back in that corner
Hands on my head, mouth sealed
I ask the silence "what happened to me?"
"How did I get here?"
In the silence, I hear another voice
Soft. Simple. Calm.
Soothing and relaxing.
"Be still and know I am God"

My heart aint at rest with my generation,
Plenty talk, plenty condemnation,
From our leaders are bad and corrupt,
To our system is lame and disrupt.
Like the Jews we await a messiah,
And then boom! Abracadabra,
All our problems will go away.
(Laughs)
Look into the mirror, there is Nigeria's messiah,
If this generation won't learn from the mistakes of our heroes (coughs) past,
Then this generation might just be the last.
My people, Nigeria, perish for lack of knowledge,
You think I am lying check the elite class.
The beggars are riding horses and the princes are walking.
Money miss road is the story of the generation before and may remain the same for the generation after.
What are we gonna do?
What is the solution to our problems?
Its time for a new mindset,
A mind set on the right things,
Set on the right principles.
A mind set on the right information,
Set on the right knowledge.
Y.A.D.A- you deserve to know the truth

I am on a different high,
I am high on the Most High,
And His son, Jesus,
Who has been lifted on high,
Not by me, but by the Most High.
This Jesus is highly lifted up,
So high, that when we look up,
We see Him seated on the right side of the Most High,
Man, I am on High,
So high, It is like I am on cloud nine, ten or 99.
This Jesus who was put on the cross,
Is risen on high, high above the galaxies.
I am on high because,
Anytime I think & try to fathom Him,
I get on a different high.
So high, so high, so high,
Can't you see Him?
Have you not heard of His fame?
If you have not seen or heard,
Abeg look on high,
You will see Him there, shining in the light of His glory,
My God is on high,
He aint a local champion (Wetin you dey talk?)
I am so high, I can touch the sky like Kanye,
This Jesus not only walks, He soars with me,
Me on His wings, gliding up in the air, He is on high,
And now He runs this town, not only tonight,
But forever, He is the King of kings and Lord of lords,
He is on high.
He rules this body, His temple
I am on high,

Me and Jesus know what’s up.
The enemy tries to steal my joy,
Me and Jesus overcome.
I am so in love with Him,
He is the One who rescued me.
I am so in love with Him,
He is the One who takes care of me.
I am so in love with Him,
Under His arms, I find peace.
I am so in love with Him.
My burdens and fears are on Him.
I don’t care what this world may bring,

Hey y'all,

What's good? First of all, I wanna say a big thank you to all who have shown me support. Thank you so much I really do appreciate it.

The Poetically Speaking Mixtape still drops May 8th, which happens to be my birthday. I am so excited and I hope you are blessed by the poems you will be hearing there... Also, I am available to do shows, album skits, concerts whatever... and I am willing to do it for free... I just wanna spread the message of change across the world. The essence of Poetically Speaking is to speak till there is a change from our spiritual life to our nation. There has to be a change starting from you and I. The poems are a reflection of my struggles, my fears and my hope for change... I cannot wait for the release...

Vision of Love

I had a vision of love... it was an amazing vision. He was there, with arms wide open, calling me... It was crazy... Here I am a young, average, random dude... Undeserving of His love and He reaches out to me...
Love really is strong, for how can a Holy God, love someone like me...

I had a dream last night,
There I saw Him again,He told me that He was working all things together for my good and that he had it all covered...can you imagine that? He said that His love for me will never end and that He has called me for greater thing... very funny... You should have seen the way I laughed, Me? Greater things... I doubt He knows about my low self esteem and insecurity issues... Funny thing is He says he does. How did he even know I was thinking what I was thinking sef? This man...

I had an illusion of reality... It had to be an illusion... I saw Him die for my sake... Who does that? I don't even love Him the way He loves me so why die? who does that? It had to be an illusion. People were beating Him like a criminal, He was spat on and they gambled with His clothes... for me... I did not send Him message... I no send am...but e be like say the Guy send me sha... Abi? No... It has to be an illusion of reality... I should see a therapist cause it is like I am imagining things... Yes oh...
Thing is, He came near and carried me and said... This is no illusion, is has real as the air you breathe... WOW!!! There is most definitely no greater love than this...

This is why like TY Bello, I will love this Man for the rest of my life... For Him to do all that He did for me, He has to consider me special, the apple of His eyes...
This love is all I need... it is all I want...

Like Out of Eden, I have been looking for love,
In wrong places, in "right" places, in every place.
Looking for someone to satisfy,
The longings I feel inside.
Truth is, friends come and friends go,
Lovers stay as long as the feelings last.
My endless search has brought me pain and reproach,
A broken heart, a crushed soul and a wounded spirit.
Oh, the nights I stayed up waiting for that call,
Or the times I sat thinking, maybe, just maybe,
Trying to hide my insecurities in a lovers touch,
Or building my insecurities on lust not love.
(It's crazy man)
I had to realize no one can love me like You do,
Love starts, ends and finds existence in You (You are Love).
This love doesn't break hearts but molds them,
It does not crush the soul but it is the ultimate soul food,
It doesn't wound the spirit but gives a new Spirit, a Comforter,
It took a while but this I know for sure

After searching far and wide,
After taking fruitless strides,
One thing that remains constant,
Is that it is just me & You.
After all has been said and done,

Roses are red,
Violets are blue or purple?
Sugar is sweet (and very harmful)
And so are you...
You make me smile when I don't want to,
You make me angry when I shouldn't be,
You gimme a bitter-sweet feeling,
The feelings I feel that I don't want to feel,
Feelings to love and hate,
Feelings to cry and laugh,
I love you and I hate you,
God help me, I don't want to be stuck,
Can't be, wont be, shouldn't be...
(Pause)
Roses are red,
The sky is blue,
God loves you,
And so do I.

Behind My Veil

There is a veil over my face,

You do not want to see what is underneath.

There is a veil over my face,

It is just hurt and pain that lies beneath.

You do not know what I have been through,

You do not have a clue.

Man, you cannot relate to the pain I have felt,

You do not walk a mile in my shoes so you cannot know.

The struggle to be free has been going on for long,

The freedom so I can sing a new song,

A song of praise, a song of joy,

A song of freedom, playing with a different tune.

But he came, man, God came near.

He came and looked behind my veil,

The things he saw made Him take up that cross,

The things he saw made Him conquer the grave,

You cannot understand.

I am telling you God came near,

He came and looked behind my veil,

He came and He ripped it,

He ripped it so I can see things with perfect clarity.

I look into the mirror and I do not see me, I see Him,

I see Him, smiling at me, loving me,

I am transformed gradually into His image,

All because He came near, Yes, God came near

I want to delight in Your perfections,
In your sanctuary, I want to hide myself,
I am humbled, O Lord in Your presence,
Your mercies renew my strength like the eagles,

Swagger Like Him

Nobody has got swagger like Him,

Not on earth, not even in the heavens.

Do you want to know why?

The earth is His and the fullness thereof,

All that is in it is sustained through Him.

The mountains declare His greatness,

The trees stand in awe of His majesty,

The flowers cannot comprehend His beauty,

The oceans are not as deep as His love for me, for you.

So I ask again who has got swagger like Him?

I searched everywhere, anywhere,

I found no one, no one at all,

The angels live to sing His praises,

He is the King of the heavens,

The Lord of the skies,

The highest heavens cannot contain Him,

The angelic host proclaim “Holy is our God”.

So I say that it is impossible to have swagger like Him,

He was there before the word was formed,

And He will be there when the word fades away.

Who can have swagger like Him?

Among the gods, among principalities, among powers, among men,

No one, absolutely no one.

He is I AM THAT I AM,

Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,

The First and the Last,

He lavishes His love on those who love and obey Him,

He is a gracious and merciful King,

He makes all things new and beautiful too,

He is love, giver of the law, the Judge who us mighty to save,

The One who is, who always was and who is still to come,

The Almighty One, the Ancient of Days,

The King of swagger.
