Roses are Red...

In the spirit of valentine, I wrote this poem...enjoy
Roses are red,
Violets are blue or purple?
Sugar is sweet (and very harmful)
And so are you...
You make me smile when I don't want to,
You make me angry when I shouldn't be,
You gimme a bitter-sweet feeling,
The feelings I feel that I don't want to feel,
Feelings to love and hate,
Feelings to cry and laugh,
I love you and I hate you,
God help me, I don't want to be stuck,
Can't be, wont be, shouldn't be...
(Pause)
Roses are red,
The sky is blue,
God loves you,
And so do I.

Behind My Veil

There is a veil over my face,

You do not want to see what is underneath.

There is a veil over my face,

It is just hurt and pain that lies beneath.

You do not know what I have been through,

You do not have a clue.

Man, you cannot relate to the pain I have felt,

You do not walk a mile in my shoes so you cannot know.

The struggle to be free has been going on for long,

The freedom so I can sing a new song,

A song of praise, a song of joy,

A song of freedom, playing with a different tune.

But he came, man, God came near.

He came and looked behind my veil,

The things he saw made Him take up that cross,

The things he saw made Him conquer the grave,

You cannot understand.

I am telling you God came near,

He came and looked behind my veil,

He came and He ripped it,

He ripped it so I can see things with perfect clarity.

I look into the mirror and I do not see me, I see Him,

I see Him, smiling at me, loving me,

I am transformed gradually into His image,

All because He came near, Yes, God came near

And looked behind my veil.

This is real...

This is real,
My life, my pain, my struggles,
It is real,
All I have been through, the tears,
They are all real,
After the pain, came joy,
After the rain, came the sun,
Finally, I look back on the story of my life,
It was real, it is real and so is my God.

Before You, Oh Lord

Before You, O Lord, I am humbled,
At Your Throne of Grace, I stand,
I don’t stand with the confidence of foolish men,
I stand in awe of Your presence and bask in the glory of your Name.
Better is one day in Your courts, O Lord,
To behold your beauty forevermore.
I want to delight in Your perfections,
In your sanctuary, I want to hide myself,
I am humbled, O Lord in Your presence,
Your mercies renew my strength like the eagles,
I would rather be a gatekeeper in Your house, O Lord,
Because you are a good, great and mighty God.
Your unfailing love continues forever to every generation,
You love those who fear You with reverence, worship and awe.
Your mercies are from everlasting to everlasting,
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies,
So Lord, before You, I stand, with my head bowed and my heart ready to do as You command.

Ranah! God, He Reigns

My soul magnifies the Lord,

My heart joys in God my Saviour,

The One true God,

Ranah! He reigns.

He reigns forever more,

He reigns in victory,

Through the hardship, the pain, the highs and the lows,

He reigns!

Though wars rise against me,

And everyone turns their back on me,

Ranah! He reigns.

Have you not heard about my God?

He is a holy King and He has done great things for me.

He is close to the broken hearted and he recues those who are crushed,

He is my shield and buckler,

My very present help in time of need,

Ranah! He reigns.

I choose to take delight in the Lord,

Because He will grant me the desires of my heart,

He only is God; he doesn’t share His glory with anyone,

No one does it better than our God,

He is honoured by every nation,

He is honoured throughout the earth,

Ranah! He reigns

Not to me, Yahweh, not to me,

Your Name gets all the glory,

Your love is unfailing and your faithfulness is sure,

Everlasting, ever loving, ever living God,

The hearts of kings are in Your hands,

Whatever You do is final,

Ranah! He reigns.

He is my eternal rock,

He keeps me in perfect peace,

He makes all things work together for my good, for His purpose,

He doesn’t need my advice,

He doesn’t need my help,

He has it all covered,

Ranah! God, He reigns.
